                          MFT 40th Anniversary Workshop 

  "Family Systems Treatment for Struggling Adolescents:  Options and Approaches"

     

             Workshop in Conjunction with the 40th Anniversary of the BYU MFT Graduate Programs

                                                                  Friday, April 13, 2007

                                                                    9:00 am to 3:15 pm

Utah is nationally recognized for its many excellent family systems adolescent treatment centers and programs*, yet many professionals are not aware of these treatment options and their processes.  This workshop is designed to inform and update marriage and family therapists and graduate students as to the variety of family systems based services available for adolescents and their families.

As a result of attending the workshop participants will:

1. Be informed as to the variety of family systems based adolescent treatment options in Utah including clinical/therapeutic residential treatment centers, wilderness programs, and aftercare intervention.

2. Be informed regarding the function and process of the fammiy educational consultant working with the adolescent, their families, treatment selection and follow-up.

3.Network with family professionals who are working with families and adolescents.

*Time precludes presenting other outstanding Utah based adolescent treatment programs in this workshop

The workshop is approved by UAMFT for 5 CEU hours

Sam Dahlin, Ph.D., LMFT

Addictions and Recovery Director & Partner, Willow Creek School Residential Treatment Center.  Sam is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in MFT from Brigham Young University.

 

Ian Feinauer, Ph.D., LMFT

Therapist, Second Nature Wilderness Program.  Ian is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with an M.S. degree in MFT from the University of Kentucky and the Ph.D. in MFT from Brigham Young University.

 

Sarah Finney, MS, LMFT

Educational Consultant and Director of Western Services at Educational Consulting Services.  Sarah is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a M.S. degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University. She is also a Professional Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association.

 

David Hillstead, Ph.D., LMFT

Clinical Director and Partner, Willow Creek School Residential Treatment Center.  Dave is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in MFT from Brigham Young University.

 

Craig LaMont, M.S., LMFT

Craig is a co-founder of Telos Residential Treatment Center and currently acts as the CEO and Head Triathlon Coach.  Craig is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with an M.S. degree in MFT from Brigham Young University.  Craig is President-elect of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs (NATSAP).

 

Brad Reedy, Ph.D., LMFT

Founder and Partner, Second Nature Wilderness Program.  Brad is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with an M.S. degree in MFT from Loma Linda University and the Ph.D. in MFT from Brigham Young University.

 

Alan Springer, Ph.D., LMFT

Clinician/Project Manager, Telos Residential Treatment Center.  Alan is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Ph.D. degree in MFT from Brigham Young University.  Alan is President of UAMFT – the Utah Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

 

Robert Stahmann, Ph.D., LMFT

Professor in the School of Family Life and Director of the Graduate Programs in MFT at Brigham Young University.  Bob is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.

 

Tim R. Thayne, Ph.D., LMFT

Founder/Executive Director of Homeward Bound Family Transition Management.  Tim is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with an M.S. degree in MFT from Brigham Young University and the Ph.D. degree in MFT from Virginia Polytechnic University.

 

Bryan Zitzman. Ph.D., MFT

Program Director at Homeward Bound Family Transition Management.  Bryan received his M.S. in MFT from Brigham Young University and his Ph.D. degree in MFT from Virginia Polytechnic University
